The 2-Ingredient Retro Fudge That Tastes Like Childhood

The classic 1980s church cookbook secret: microwave a tub of vanilla frosting with a jar of creamy peanut butter for 60 seconds, stir together, and pour into a pan. It sets into velvety, sliceable peanut butter fudge. Difficulty: Super Easy.

Ingredients

  • 1 jar (16 oz) creamy peanut butter (like Jif or Skippy)
  • 1 tub (16 oz) vanilla or cream cheese frosting
  • Flaky sea salt for sprinkling (optional)

Directions

1

Microwave and stir

Remove lids and foil from peanut butter and frosting tubs. Microwave in a bowl for 60 seconds until melted. Stir vigorously until blended.

2

Pour into pan and chill

Pour into parchment-lined 8x8 pan. Smooth top and sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Refrigerate 1 hour until firm.

3

Slice into squares

Lift fudge out using parchment paper; slice into 24 bite-size fudge squares.

πŸ’‘ CHEF'S PRO TIPS

  • Use conventional peanut butter (not natural oil-separating peanut butter) so the fudge sets firm and sliceable.

This has completely replaced my normal avocado toast! The beans blend so well you cannot even tell, and I stay full until lunchtime!

Great trick for adding protein without cooking eggs on busy mornings. Added a pinch of red pepper flakes and lemon zestβ€”delicious.
