My 1-Ingredient Upgrade for Better Chocolate Chip Cookies
Adding 3/4 cup of Heath English toffee bits into your standard chocolate chip cookie dough melts into golden caramelized pockets while baking, creating irresistible chewy centers and crisp, buttery edges. Difficulty: Easy.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour & 1 tsp baking soda & 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, browned and cooled slightly
- 3/4 cup brown sugar & 1/2 cup granulated sugar & 2 eggs & 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chunks & 3/4 cup Heath toffee bits
- Flaky sea salt (like Maldon) for sprinkling
Directions
Cream butter and sugars
Beat cooled browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add eggs and vanilla.
Fold in chocolate and toffee
Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in chocolate chunks and toffee bits.
Bake until golden
Scoop 2-tablespoon dough balls onto parchment. Bake at 375Β°F (190Β°C) for 9β11 minutes. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt immediately.
