A hearty Texas-style pasta bake combining Italian spaghetti with cowboy cookout favorites: ground beef browned in bacon drippings, simmered with barbecue sauce, fire-roasted tomatoes, and hot sauce, baked under a thick blanket of sharp cheddar. Difficulty: Easy.
Ingredients
- 12 oz spaghetti pasta, broken in half
- 1 lb lean ground beef & 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 can (14 oz) fire-roasted diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup smoky barbecue sauce & 1 tbsp hot sauce
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese & green onions for garnish
Directions
Brown beef and bacon
In an oven-safe skillet, brown chopped bacon and ground beef until cooked through; drain excess fat.
Simmer sauce and toss pasta
Stir in tomatoes, BBQ sauce, hot sauce, and boiled spaghetti. Top with cheddar cheese.
Bake until bubbling
Bake at 375Β°F (190Β°C) for 20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbling.
