A famous 1970s Southern classic made famous by Duncan Hines: yellow cake mix elevated with sour cream and oil, layered with a thick cinnamon and chopped pecan filling, finished with a powdered sugar drizzle. Difficulty: Easy.
Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix & 1 cup sour cream & 1/2 cup oil & 1/2 cup sugar & 4 eggs
- Filling: 1/3 cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp cinnamon, 1 cup chopped pecans
- Glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar & 2 tbsp milk & 1 tsp vanilla
Directions
Mix batter and filling
Beat cake mix, sour cream, oil, sugar, and eggs for 2 minutes. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and pecans.
Layer in bundt pan
Pour half the batter into greased bundt pan. Sprinkle cinnamon pecan filling. Pour remaining batter over top.
Bake and glaze
Bake at 375Β°F for 35β40 minutes. Cool, invert onto platter, and drizzle with vanilla glaze.
