The 70's-Era Cake I'm Bringing to Every Party From Now On
A charming 1970s conversation piece: white cake mix combined with instant pistachio pudding and 7-Up soda, baked into an emerald green sponge and topped with pineapple-pistachio whipped topping. Difficulty: Easy.
Ingredients
- 1 box white cake mix & 1 box (3.4 oz) instant pistachio pudding mix
- 1 cup lemon-lime soda (7-Up or Sprite) & 3 large eggs & 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- Frosting: 1 envelope Dream Whip, 1 cup cold milk, 1 box pistachio pudding, 1 can (8 oz) crushed pineapple drained
- Chopped salted pistachios for topping
Directions
Mix and bake cake
Beat cake mix, pudding mix, soda, eggs, and oil 2 minutes. Bake in bundt or 9x13 pan at 350Β°F for 30β35 minutes. Cool.
Whip pineapple frosting
Beat Dream Whip, milk, and pudding mix until thick. Fold in drained pineapple. Spread over cooled cake.
