Crispy Malted Belgian Waffles with Maple Butter

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour & 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder & 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs, separated
- 1 3/4 cups whole milk & 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract & maple syrup for serving
Directions
Separate eggs and whip whites
In a clean bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Mix batter and fold whites
Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk egg yolks, milk, melted butter, and vanilla; combine with flour. Gently fold in whipped egg whites.
Bake in waffle iron
Cook in preheated Belgian waffle iron 4β5 mins per waffle until steam stops escaping and crust is deep golden brown.
