Adding 1/2 cup of Carnation malted milk powder transforms ordinary brownies into the nostalgic flavor of a 1950s soda fountain chocolate malt shake. Fudgy, dense, and finished with a paper-thin crinkly crust. Difficulty: Easy.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted & 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder & 1/2 cup malted milk powder
- 3 large eggs & 1 tsp vanilla & 3/4 cup all-purpose flour & 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Beat butter, sugar, and eggs
Whisk melted butter and sugar vigorously with eggs for 2 minutes until glossy and thickened.
Fold dry ingredients
Fold in cocoa powder, malted milk powder, flour, and salt. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
Bake until shiny and fudgy
Bake in parchment-lined 8x8 pan at 350Β°F (175Β°C) for 28β30 minutes until edges are set and center is moist.
