The Easy Sugar Cookie Bars No One Can Resist
All the soft, melt-in-your-mouth magic of Lofthouse frosted sugar cookies without chilling or rolling dough. Pressed into a 9x13 pan, baked until soft, and covered in thick whipped buttercream. Difficulty: Easy.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened & 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs & 1 egg yolk & 1 tbsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour & 1 tsp baking powder & 1/2 tsp salt
- Buttercream: 1/2 cup butter, 3 cups powdered sugar, 3 tbsp heavy cream, pink food coloring, sprinkles
Directions
Press cookie dough into pan
Beat butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt. Press evenly into parchment-lined 9x13 pan.
Bake soft
Bake at 350Β°F (175Β°C) for 20β22 minutes until edges are barely golden. Cool completely.
Frost and slice
Beat buttercream ingredients until fluffy. Spread over cooled bars, scatter sprinkles, and slice into squares.
