Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs tenderized cube steak, cut into 1-inch wide fingers
- 2 cups all-purpose flour & 2 large eggs beaten with 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp cayenne & 1 tsp black pepper
- Oil for pan frying
- 2 tbsp pan drippings whisked with 2 tbsp flour and 1 1/2 cups milk for gravy
Directions
Double dredge steak fingers
Season steak fingers. Dredge in flour, dip in egg-milk wash, and dredge in flour again for extra crunch.
Fry until golden
Pan fry in 1/2-inch hot oil at 350Β°F for 3-4 mins per side until deep golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Whisk country gravy
Whisk flour into hot pan drippings, pour in milk, and simmer 3 mins with heavy black pepper.
