This Easy One-Pot Dinner Is Pure Italian Comfort Food
All the pasta cooks right in the sauce with chicken broth, browned Italian sausage, and cream. The starchy pasta cooking liquid naturally thickens the sauce into an ultra-creamy restaurant-quality glaze.
Ingredients
- 1 lb sweet or spicy Italian sausage, casings removed
- 12 oz dry rigatoni or penne pasta
- 4 cups chicken broth & 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced & 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, sliced
- 3 cups fresh baby spinach & 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan
Directions
Brown sausage and garlic
In a Dutch oven, brown sausage for 7 mins, breaking into bite-size pieces. Add garlic for 1 min.
Simmer pasta directly in broth
Add broth, cream, pasta, and sun-dried tomatoes. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook 15 mins until pasta is al dente.
Fold in spinach and cheese
Stir in baby spinach and Parmesan cheese until melted and silky.
